At WonderCon yesterday, star of the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson appeared at a panel and unveiled a clip of the upcoming fifth installment of the series, ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’.

If you couldn’t be in Anaheim for the con, and really want to know what’s up with ‘Resident Evil’, the good people at Comic Book Movie provide footage of the panel in it’s entirety, minus the movie clip of course.

Overall, the pair didn’t give away too much about the film, but a few interesting things came up during the panel. For example, they talked a little bit about who would be appearing in the film. Anderson mentions that Michelle Rodriguez, who played Rain Ocampo in the first film, comes back and plays a big part in the new movie. Key video game characters are set to appear in the movie as well, including Jill Valentine, played by Sienna Guillory, Ada Wong, played by Li Bingbing, and Leon Kennedy, played by Johann Urb.

When asked whether the film franchise will continue to expand as the video game series expands, Anderson said that ‘Retribution’ would start winding down the series. The director said:

“In terms of the movies, this is very much the beginning of the end. This movie sets up for what we hope will be a spectacular finale, where a lot of people will die and a lot of blood will be spilled. In 3D.”

Another fan asked Anderson that since he’s pretty much become known for his video game adaptations after doing these movies and ‘Mortal Kombat’, what video game would he like to take on next. He said, “I’ve always wanted to do Donkey Kong.” Milla suggests Frogger, and the crowd shouts out Zelda, which would be pretty awesome if it could actually happen. I think that if Paul wants to stick with Capcom, there’s potentially for a Mega Man movie.

To see the full panel, where Jovovich talks a little about the differences between fighting in 3D vs. fight scenes from the past, some of her other strong female roles, and her favorite things about the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise, check out the videos below. ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ hits theaters on September 14, 2012.
