With the talk of big budget films like ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘The Avengers’ coming out, it’s easy to forget about the really good ones that don’t have $250 million in their budget. Such is the case with the new Guy Pearce sci-fi film ‘Lockout.’

This has me as excited as seeing ‘The Avengers!’ Why? Because it’s a Luc Besson (‘Taken’, ‘Colombiana’) film and Pearce is great as the reluctant, arrogant, sarcastic action hero (and he’s got some impressive guns on him – and I’m not talking about the kind he shoots!). From the first international trailer, you could tell that you’ll be in for one heck of a ride filled with countless one-liners.

We posted another trailer in January, but here’s the first clip from the movie. In it, Maggie Grace, who plays the President’s daughter, is trying to convince Snow (Pearce) not to leave the other hostages, but he’ll have none of that. He was sent to do a job and that’s all he’s going to do.

The movie’s release date has been moved up to April 13 right between the two big blockbusters. If you’re into snarky action heroes, then ‘Lockout’ is a must see for you!

Synopsis :

LOCKOUT follows Snow, a loose-cannon government agent convicted of a crime which he did not commit. When it comes to breaking the rules, he is the best in the business. He is offered his freedom if he can rescue the President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from a prison in space which has been overtaken by its prisoners.

Directed by Stephen St. Leger, ‘Lockout’ breaks into theaters on April 13th and stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, Vincent Regan, and Nick Hardin.
