ABC Gives Pilot Order To Supernatural Drama ‘Gotham’
Soon after the CW network announced their list of pilot orders that they green- lit, the alphabet network has announced a few of their own.
The sci-fi genre must be a hot commodity as ABC has placed an order for the supernatural drama ‘Gotham.’ Written by Michael Green (‘Heroes’, ‘The River’, ‘Green Lantern’), ‘Gotham’ centers on a female cop who, after pursuing a seemingly unsolvable case, “discovers a magical world that exists within New York City. (It’s) a world that goes unseen by normal humans and takes all of the familiar NY landmarks and reinvents them in a magical otherworldly manner.” Green will also executive produce the project.
The concept of the series seems to be similar to the NBC series ‘Grimm’ but without the fairy tale element. This is the second supernatural pilot ordered by ABC. A few days ago they just green-lit a pilot for a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ retelling.
No actors have been cast as of yet and as usual with all pilots, we’ll just have to wait and see if the network executives will like it enough to push forward toward a series.
