Rian Johnson in the 'Looper' Time Machine

The movie doesn’t come out until September, but director Rian Johnson gave fans a late present when he unveiled the front of the time machine used in his new movie ‘Looper.’

‘Looper’ is the third film directed by Johnson and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (‘The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘G.I. Joe’) and Bruce Willis (‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’). It’s a film noir with a sci-fi twist. Set in the near future, it focuses on Joe (Gordon-Levitt) who is part of a group of hitmen called “Loopers.” They work for the mob and help them “dispose” of bodies. In the future, the mob uses a time machine to send their victims to the past where the Loopers wait and kill them. Everything goes as clock work until Joe recognizes his latest victim – his future self (played by Willis)! Now Joe has to find a way to save him and his future self.

Although the time machine is in black and white, it still looks impressive and I’m sure it will look even more so when the movie comes out. Filming for ‘Looper’ wrapped early last year and preliminary screenings of the film was met with some great positive reactions. It sounds like this film is worth seeing. And how can you not get excited seeing a still of Willis with a gun that shoots fire from the movie? Looks like I’m going to have to change my Top 5 list of movies to see so I can add ‘Looper’ to the list!

‘Looper’ also stars Emily Blunt (‘The Adjustment Bureau’, ‘The Muppets’) , Jeff Daniels (‘My Favorite Martion’, ‘Dumb and Dumber’), Paul Dano (‘Cowboys and Aliens’, ‘Knight and Day’) and Piper Perabo (‘Covert Affairs’, ‘Carriers’) and will be released in theaters in the U.S. and UK on September 28, 2012.
