It has become a tradition for Doctor Who fans to see a ‘Doctor Who’ segment during Britain’s ‘Children in Need’ Telethon. In the past, these segments included interstitials/mini episodes that would link a season’s finale episode with the upcoming Christmas episode. This year, fans were treated with a trailer along with a strip tease by Matt Smith.

‘Children in Need’ is an annual British charity organized by the BBC that is devoted to raising funds exclusively for charities working with children in the UK. This year, as part of the fundraising, the BBC is auctioning off Matt Smith’s Doctor outfit along with a signed script of the filmed segment on Ebay. To help announce this auction piece, Smith undressed (albeit behind a screen) describing each item that would be included: his tweed jacket, jeans, shirt, boots, suspenders, watch and, of course, the bow tie.

At the time of writing this article, the bid was at £14,100 ($22,265.31 US). Smith also introduced the trailer for the upcoming Christmas episode called ‘The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe’ which will be a slightly fractured take on the classic book ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.’

For those outside the UK who were not able to watch the telethon, don’t fret! We have the segment and trailer for you here:
