The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, and ‘The Avengers’ aren’t the only huge nerd movies hitting theaters this year. An innovator of the science fiction genre, Ridley Scott, has returned, and will present us with ‘Prometheus’, a potential prequel to Scott’s legendary ‘Alien’.

Today, an international teaser trailer of the film was unveiled. It contains most of the same footage as the domestic trailer; however, there are a few new glimpses into the world of the film in the international version. We still get a feel of the suspense that we are expected to experience in the film once it hits theaters. Basically, hardcore fans of the sci-fi horror genre and of Scott should be thrilled.

Co-written by John Spaihts, who wrote ‘The Darkest Hour’, and Damon Lindelof, of ‘Lost’ fame, ‘Prometheus’ is about a team of explorers who uncover clues to the origins of mankind, which leads them to the darkest corners of the galaxy. Once there, they must fight for their lives and for the future of the human race. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Wilson, and Idris Elba, and is scheduled to be released on June 8th, 2012 in 3D.
