Much thought and speculation has been going into how exactly Marvel is going to adapt the epic ‘Civil War’ comic book in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ especially in regards to what the name of the legislation is that will be pushed on the heroes (in the Comics it was the ‘Superhero Registration Act’, in the MCU it might be the “accords” mentioned by Cap and Falcon at the end of ‘Ant-Man’) and also what is going to set off the whole chain of events leading to the reigning in of heroes.

New rumors have come out that might paint the picture of the latter events, so SPOILERS AHEAD, read on only if you do not mind going into ‘Captain America: Civil War’ with a little knowledge of what might happen. According to a source over at Heroic Hollywood:

“In order to protect the civilians on the ground, Captain America orders Scarlet Witch to levitate Crossbones above ground. She does and unfortunately is unable to contain the massive explosion that sets off near a populated building causing death and destruction.”

This would fit in perfectly with what we already know about the movie, as we seen videos and pictures from the set showing Captain America and Crossbones duking it out, and we have also heard that aside from this scene Crossbones does not have much else to do in the film. And with the rumors that Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) was hanging out around that set, it would fit perfectly with the rumor above. And what is also great about things going down this way is that it will lead to much guilt and doubt in their abilities for both Scarlet Witch (who in the comics is a very tormented soul), and for Captain America, who up to this point has been very sure of himself in his ability to lead and handle situations, which could result in great character arcs for both characters in ‘Civil War’ and beyond.

What are your thoughts on the potential inciting incident for ‘Captain America: Civil War?” Do you think they could have attempted to make it closer to the comic, or will it work even better this way? Share your opinions below!
