One of the greatest debates of our genre is the ongoing discussion on which is better, ‘Star Trek‘ or ‘Star Wars‘ and now William Shatner weighs in with his thoughts on the recent trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ Unsurprising to all he seems a little biased against the trailer which I’m sure doesn’t have anything to do with his rumored ‘Star Trek 3‘ cameo. It really doesn’t matter if he’s rallying for his old series, trolling fans, or just having a good time but some of his commentary is pretty hilarious.
The one thing I will say is that I’d love to see Carrie Fisher’s response to this one as they’ve had an ongoing debate for years on the subject. Well, I won’t spoil it for you so let’s take a quick look so you can see for yourself and either get a little laugh, a little riled up, or a bit of both!
So I hear a bunch of you waited up until the wee hours to watch a certain trailer.

My final thought on the trailer: there’s lots of subliminal letters in the star pattern at the end & there is even Mickey Mouse in the stars — William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) November 28, 2014
While I personally don’t think that little droid is going to be more annoying than Jar Jar or last too far into the franchise, a lot of those were pretty hilarious. This coming from someone who loved the trailer regardless of how little it actually brought to the table on what to expect and a lack of the original cast.
That being said I’m pretty sure he isn’t fully against the series and would jokingly take a part in it if he was asked as you can see below.
“@LemonyFreshTwit: Can’t wait to see if @WilliamShatner will make an appearance in #StarWars” You never know!

“You never know!” doesn’t sound like: Not a chance in Hell! C’mon J.J., you didn’t use him in your ‘Star Trek’ reboot how hilarious would it be if you used him in ‘Star Wars’? Make it so!
What did you think about Shatner’s thoughts on the first ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer?
