Due to the laundry list of technical issues plaguing the recent ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’, Ubisoft has cancelled the Season Pass for the title.

To apologize for the inconvenience of ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’s’ technical issues, Ubisoft has opted to give users the game’s first DLC campaign pack entitled ‘Dead Kings’ for free. To further this rather unexpected development, the company has removed the sale of the ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ Season Pass from all market places.

“To show our appreciation for your continued support, we’re making the upcoming ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ Dead Kings DLC free for everyone. For Season Pass holders, we will also offer the choice of one additional game from a selection of Ubisoft titles for free. More details on the offer for Season Pass holders can be found here: AC Unity FAQ,” said Yannis Mallat, CEO of Ubisoft Montreal in a press release on an Ubisoft Blog.

For those who pre-purchased the ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ Season Pass, they have the choice to download one of the following games:

For those unaware, when ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ first released in November, it had a significant amount of technical issues across all platforms that prevented many players from fully enjoying the game, such as graphical glitches that made it so characters had no faces during cutscenes, stuttering frame rate and constant game crashes. The problems were so widespread and extensive that Ubisoft started an official blog devoted to addressing developments towards bug fixes. As of writing, after releasing three  large patches, Ubisoft is still trying to address and fix multiple issues still existing in the game.

‘Assassin’s Creed: Unity’ is the seventh installment in the long running open world action adventure series. It puts players in the shoes of French Assassin Arno Victor Dorian as he tries to navigate a world of conspiracy amidst the chaotic French Revolution. It is the first title in the series to feature co-op gameplay.

‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ is available now for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
