Fan-favorite John Barrowman had to cancel at least two shows of his current ‘A Fabulous Christmas’ tour after suffering a neck injury and being rushed to the hospital.
As he announced via Instagram:
As he stated, he was forced to cancel his concerts at the Bristol Hippodrome on Saturday 30th November and at the SEC Armadillo, Glasgow, on Sunday 1st December, although he rescheduled those shows.
He updated fans later when he was headed back to the hospital for an MRI.
Finally, he stated that the root of the issue had been found– a “C5/6 facet joint injury.” He stated that he had been given injections to reduce inflammation and pain, and expressed hope that his tour would be back on schedule, and he would be able to appear at his previously scheduled for Manchester, and that he’d moved his Glasgow show to Tuesday night.
John Barrowman reprised his role as Malcolm Merlyn in the eighth and final season of ‘Arrow‘. It doesn’t look as though he will make any further appearances, seeing as how he is now on tour in the UK. Barrowman first gained notice as Captain Jack Harkness, first on ‘Doctor Who‘, then on spinoff ‘Torchwood’. He recently filmed the pilot ‘Glamorous’ for The CW.
Barrowman is also very active on social media and uses it frequently to keep fans updated on his numerous projects.
It sounds as though he is out of the woods for now, but here’s hoping that this is a complete recovery and the issue doesn’t flare up again.
