The CW Orders A Second Season For Space Series Pandora
The CW

The CW has renewed its freshman summer series ‘Pandora’ for a sophomore outing next year.  Priscilla Quintana heads up the cast of this futuristic series as Jacqueline “Jax” Zhou (a.k.a. Pandora) whose parents are killed, and who winds up attending the Earth’s Space Training Institute.  ‘Pandora’ was created by Mark A. Altman and Steve Kriozere.

Set in the year 2199, Pandora is a sci-fi action series about a resourceful young woman who has lost everything but finds a new life at Earth’s Space Training Academy, where she and her friends learn to defend the galaxy from threats – both alien and human. When secrets about the nature of her own identity begin to surface, she must uncover the truth, and whether she will be humanity’s savior or the instrument of its destruction.

The cast also consists of Oliver Dench as Xander Duvall, Raechelle Banno as Atria Nine, John Harlan Kim as Greg Li, Ben Radcliffe as Ralen, Banita Sandhu as Delaney Pilar, Martin Bobb-Semple as Thomas James Ross, Noah Huntley as Professor Donovan Osborn, Tehmina Sunny as Regan Freid, Tommie Earl Jenkins as Ellison Pevney, Vikash Bhai as Martin Shral, and Manu Bennett as Leone Vokk.

As Altman said prior to the series’ launch:

“The biggest challenge of casting a new drama is to create an exciting, diverse family of actors, and I cannot imagine a more dynamic or talented group of actors than the cast of Pandora. I can’t wait for audiences around the world to meet this incredible ensemble this summer.”

Ratings for ‘Pandora’ haven’t been great, but The CW is a smaller network and tends to give its shows a longer time to find their audience.  Unfortunately, that may not happen for ‘Pandora’.  It currently has a 0% critical ranking on Rotten Tomatoes based on only five reviews.  Its audience score is 29% based on 63 reactions.

Did you enjoy the first season of ‘Pandora’?  Are you glad to see that The CW is bringing it back for a second go-round?
