The Flash Will Race Back Onto The CW With This Season 6 Synopsis

While we’re all excited for the major “Crisis On Infinite Earths” crossover, we still have months of episodes lined up for the various “Arrowverse” shows before that kicks off.  We now know what Team Flash will be up to in the season premiere from the synopsis that The CW has shared with fans:

SEASON PREMIERE – While Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) deal with the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, Nora, the team faces their greatest threat yet — one that threatens to destroy all of Central City. Meanwhile, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) has a brush with death that results in an unexpected new dynamic that will change her relationship with Caitlin forever. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Kelly Wheeler.

While The Monitor will be returning, you can tell from the description above that this isn’t going to be the central plot point for the show’s Season 6 return. On top of the official synopsis, Candice Patton let fans at this year’s SDCC know that:

“Season 6 picks up like 10 seconds after Season 5 so Barry and Iris are still dealing with the loss of Nora, it’s very raw, it’s very fresh. We see them very early on, Episode 1, really grappling with how to deal with the loss of Nora so they can move forward in a healthy way and deal with the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

Since the very first episode of the series, we’ve known that Barry Allen is slated to die in the upcoming crossover in order to save the multiverse. While it feels that the show already having changed the timeline to have this event occur in the next year instead of 2024, you can’t help but suspect that he’ll somehow come out the other side of this still among the living.
