Gamora

During the climactic battle in ‘Avengers: Endgame‘, we saw a time-displaced Gamora running around and squaring off against Thanos. While that seemed to easily indicate that Zoe Saldana’s character could now have found a way to still live on after being sacrificed by The Mad Titan for the Soul Stone, it isn’quite that cut and dry according to The Russo Brothers.

She appears to be missing at the end of the film and while one would expect that the master assassin likely just went off on her own as she wouldn’t have ties to Peter Quill or the rest of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ there is another explanation on why she could have vanished.

According to Joe Russo when talking about Iron Man snapping his fingers, “The argument could be that Tony wished away all the evil. Was she evil or just the enemy? Is she still alive? Who knows, that’s a story for another time.”

Anthony Russo went on to clarify this by wondering, “If Tony wanted to get rid of Thanos and his entire army, was she still part of his army?”

That is a good question and Gamora might not have entirely swayed her loyalties at the time of Tony’s snap and who knows what fate and The Infinity Gauntlet would have considered tied to Thanos at this point.

There is nothing but rumors as to what we’ll see in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ but the search for Gamora is always on that list. Only time will tell if Gamora is still among the living.

Do you feel that Zoe Saldana’s Gamora will have survived to appear in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’? Will she and Peter Quill be able to have a new romance bloom or will things head in a different direction as she hadn’t evolved into the Gamora introduced in the first Guardians film yet?
