Marvel's Spider-Man

Disney XD has ordered a third season of ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’, and it’s going to be massive!  For starters, the series will get a new subtitle, and will now be known as ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom’, and will follow the results of what happens when Venom summons a “global threat” from his home planet.  To battle this intergalactic menace, Spider-Man will have to turn to some cosmic backup– the Guardians of the Galaxy.  Season 2 isn’t complete and new episodes will arrive in September, with Season 3 now expected to arrive in the spring of next year.  ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ is the #1 show on cable in its time slot among Boys ages 6-11, and all Kids ages 6-11.  It is also available on Disney NOW.

Cort Lane, the senior vice president, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, reported:

“This is the most epic conflict in the history of Marvel Animation.  We planted the seeds in two seasons of Marvel’s Spider-Man and three seasons of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but you don’t need to have watched them to be blown away by this colossal confrontation. While a ton of guest heroes will be on hand, Peter Parker’s special link to Venom makes him the only hero who can tip the scales to save humanity.”

The second half of Season 2 will kick off with a five-part storyline, “Superior Spider-Man.”

“The malevolent genius Doctor Octopus, who has seized control of Spider-Man’s body, intends to use all his newfound powers toward dark purposes.”

Robbie Daymond stars as the voice of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, with Scott Menville as Doctor Octopus, Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales, Melanie Minichino as Anya Corazon, Laura Bailey as Gwen Stacy, Max Mittelman as Harry Osborn, Fred Tatasciore as Max Modell, Nancy Linari as Aunt May, Patton Oswalt as Uncle Ben, Alastair Duncan as Vulture, and Bob Joles as J. Jonah Jameson.
