Author Brandon Sanderson Offers An Update On Amazon's 'The Wheel Of Time'

Author Brandon Sanderson has offered an update on Amazon’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the book series ‘The Wheel of Time’, being spearheaded by showrunner Rafe Judkins (‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’).  The project was announced in October, and it looks to be the streaming service’s latest attempt to create its own ‘Game of Thrones’-style watercooler hit.  The original books were written by Robert Jordan, with Sanderson stepping in to pen the last three books after Jordan’s death.

Sanderson took to Reddit to discuss the show’s development, including the fact that there will be some changes made to the source material, some of which will be “polarizing” to some fans.  You can read his full announcement below:

This news could be taken either way by fans of the books, but I think most people realize that adaptations have to make some alterations to work in a new medium.

It isn’t known when ‘The Wheel of Time’ will actually begin production, but it could be as early as later this year.

Are you a fan of the book series?  Are you excited that it is coming to life on Amazon?
