One of the best reasons to watch ‘Warehouse 13’ is to see which sci-fi luminary will pop up, and in this upcoming season they managed to nab another great former ‘Star Trek’ universe star. According to TV Guide, Brent Spiner (Data from ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ for you non-Trekkers) will be appearing in six episodes of ‘Warehouse 13.’

Season 4 will pick up where the explosive last season’s finale left off with Artie (Saul Rubinek), Myka (Joanne Kelly), Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) left to figure out how to go on after what Sykes has done. Spiner will be playing the role of Brother Adrian, the leader of a top secret faction known as the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Black Diamond. Brother Adrian is a rather important character as he becomes a major obstacle in the Warehouse gang trying to pull their lives together.

As executive producer Jack Kenny explains:

“The Brotherhood is descended from the Knights Templar and connected to the Vatican. It is charged with the protection of many powerful artifacts, one of which Artie desperately needs to make everything right again. The use of this object will unleash an incredible evil and Brother Adrian is not about to see that happen.”

It also sounds like we’ll be seeing more action this season as Kenny describes the Brotherhood as “powerful and obsessively devoted and follows no rules. (They) will do anything to achieve its goals. They are gifted fighters who are willing to go to their deaths, if necessary.”

It’s been 22 years since Spiner and Rubinek last squared off against each other in the ‘ST:TNG’ episode ‘The Most Toys’. At that time, Rubinek played Kivas Fajo, a collector of rare and precious objects who kidnaps Data as part of his collection. This time the roles are reversed as Spiner gets to play the tormentor.

Spiner now joins the elite list of other Star Trek faces that have guest starred on the series including Rene Auberjonois (Odo from ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathrine Janeway from ‘Star Trek: Voyager’), and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine from ‘Star Trek: Voyager’).

The season is sounding like the bar has been raised and with the addition of Spiner, fans of ‘Warehouse 13’ will undoubtedly be in for a real treat! “It’s been a blast watching these two great actors go at each other again,” says Kenny. “Our fans are in for one wild ride!”

‘Warehouse 13’ returns on the Syfy channel on July 23rd.
