Neca SDCC Exclusive Reveals

San Diego Comic-Con is just a few weeks away, and with it the hype-train regarding all of the newest exclusives that will be available only at the event and a special shared retailers during the event. This week the team at NECA announce their first two SDCC exclusives for this year and people are already getting hype!

First up we have a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4 pack of figures that is a perfect companion to last year’s set. These figures are based on characters that appeared in their original 1990 live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adaptation, and are the first time these characters have been made in this level of detail in this scale. The four pack includes Master Splinter, the Shredder, and two Foot Soldiers; plus a large cache of weapons. The figures are all fully articulated and are exclusive to this 4 pack, although after last year’s exclusive figures were released individually as Gamestop exclusives, it would not surprise us to see these figures released in a similar manner somewhere down the line.

We also have a special new version of Pennywise the Dancing Clown from Stephen King’s ‘It’. This new figure is being called the Etched version, as its being produced in black and white so it resembles an etched drawing. It includes two interchangeable heads, plus two balloons with one in red and one in black and white to match the figure itself. The figure looks to reuse the sculpt of previous Ultimate Pennywise figures, so it’s a fun new variant for collectors to track down at the convention.

NECA Reveals Another ‘Predator’ Throwback

The team at NECA have been providing fans of the ‘Predator’ franchise a great service for years with their ongoing toyline based on the brand. One of the most popular things they’ve done in recent years is released newly updated larger-scale the versions of characters from the classic ‘Predator’ toy line made by Kenner in the 90’s. We are pleased to announce that they have decided to continue with this new tradition, with the reveal of the new Kenner tribute Laser-Shot Predator figure earlier this week! Not much information has been released yet, but we’re sure it’ll come along shortly. Check out the figure below, as seen with some other Kenner ‘Predator’ throwback figures!

“LUMOS!”

While they announced acquiring the license back at Toy in February McFarlane Toys has held back any and all information for their new ‘Harry Potter’ toy line ever since! This week they decidednto shed some slight on the new ‘Harry Potter’ figure line, with full images and release info for the first wave! The first wave of 7″ scale figures is based on ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2’, and includes Harry, Hermione, Ron, and the evil Voldemort! Each figure is fully articulated and features highly detailed sculpts. They also come packaged with their respective wands and Patronuses, save for Voldemort, who includes his faithful snake Nagini rather than a Patronus. You’ll be able to summon these into your collection starting in July when they hit stores.

The Zombie & The Unic

HBO’s hit fantasy series ‘Game Of Thrones’ may have come to an end, but Funko is far from done with the license! They thankfully held back a lot of products based on the final season of the show in order to avoid spoiling things, so now that things have wrapped up they’re finally bringing fans new POP! Vinyls of characters they’ve been asking about for a long time! This week Funko announced two new Game of Thrones POP! Vinyls from Season 8 with a Zombified Queen’s Guard version of The Mountain and our first ever POP! Vinyl of Theon Greyjoy! These figures are due in stores any day now, so be sure to keep your Three-Eyed Raven’s open for them in stores.

Funko Celebrates 80 Years Of Marvel

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Marvel Comics, which is no small feat for any company, let alone one of the largest comic book companies in the world! The team the Funko rightfully thinks that this occasion should be celebrated, and is releasing several new POP! Vinyls throughout the year to commemorate the occasion. This week they announced two new POP! Vinyls to join the Marvel line under the ‘Marvel 80th Anniversary’ banner with Namor the Sub-Mariner, and the original Human Torch! Both of these characters are from the earliest days of Marvel Comics so it seems fitting to see them as part of this line. These figures are both due out this summer.

And with that, we bring this week’s Toy News Tuesday to a close! What do you think about the new items announced this week? Do you plan on picking up anything we mentioned in this week’s column?
