Coming Soon From McFarlane Toys

The team at McFarlane Toys had one of the best showings of this year’s New York Toy Fair in February, with a number of new licenses being announced, but sadly they did not have any product on hand for most of these new licenses, meaning it left us all with a lot of neat ideas and wishful thinking for what they might have in store for us in the future. This week however, McFarlane Toys has slipped the script and released new images and information for a variety of upcoming products for some of their new licenses including ‘Mortal Kombat’, ‘Doom’, and ‘Harry Potter’!

From their all new 7″ scale ‘Mortal Kombat’ line, which looks to be based on the upcoming ‘Mortal Kombat XI’, we have our very first look at Sub-Zero and Scorpion. These are two of the long running game franchises most iconic characters, so they definitely make good choices to launch to line strong. Check the full release info for both of them below!

Mortal Kombat XI Sub-Zero Action Figure

Another leader in the iconic faces for the Mortal Kombat franchise, Sub-Zero is a formidable fighter possessing the innate ability to control ice in many forms and whose defining character trait is his fierce rivalry with his nemesis Scorpion. In his first return appearance in Mortal Kombat II, it was revealed that the original Sub-Zero had died during the events of the first game (at the hand of Scorpion) and was replaced by his brother. In the subsequent games, the younger brother of Sub-Zero, remained as Sub-Zero, while the older brother became the wraith Noob Saiboot.

Mortal Kombat XI Scorpion Action Figure

Note: Images are digital renderings and are not the actual McFarlane figures. Images are subject to change pending licensor approval.

A leader in the iconic faces for the Mortal Kombat franchise, “Scorpion” is the alias of Hanzo Hasashi, formerly one of the finest warriors of the Shirai Ryu, a Japanese ninja clan. After he was killed by Sub-Zero, a member of a rival clan of Chinese assassins known as the Lin Kuei, Scorpion became a hellspawned revenant residing in hell (later the Netherrealm) and seeking vengeance against those responsible for the destruction of his clan and the death of his family, including his wife and his son. Although essentially neutral in allegiance, Scorpion will join forces with anyone who can assist his plans of revenge.

From ID and Bethesda’s ‘Doom’ franchise, we have our first ever properly articulated figure of The ‘Doom Slayer’! This figure is based on the character design from ‘Doom’ (2016), McFarlane Toys is bringing us a 7″ scale ‘Ultra-Articulated’ figure of The Doom Slayer and it looks glorious! Check out the release info below!

Doom Slayer Action Figure

The Doom Slayer (also known by the UAC as DM1-5, DOOM Marine or The Slayer, the Demons of Hell as the Doom Slayer, the Unchained Predator, the Hell Walker or to the fandom DOOM Guy) has been the main protagonist for most the series and playable character in Doom franchise and in the upcom-ing Doom Eternal. His origin is intentionally vague, but he wears his iconic green Space Marine armor and slaughters through countless demons and monsters on a perpetual war against hell.

And finally, for their new ‘Harry Potter’ 7″ scale line, McFarlane has revealed the full lineup of the first wave of figures! The first wave of ‘Harry Potter’ from McFarlane Toys gives us the figures we kind of suspected with Harry, Ron, and Hermione all in this initial release wave. The series is rounded out with the villainous Lord Voldemort, who comes packaged with his faithful pet snake Nagini! Each of the figures in the first wave is said to be based on the characters appearances from ‘Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows’, and each of our heroes is packaged with a minifigure of their Patronus! Hopefully we will see some full images of these figures soon.
