Game Of Thrones

With the premiere of the final season just a few short months away (April 14th just CANNOT get here soon enough!), fans around the world are preparing for the end of ‘Game of Thrones,’ desperately re-watching the old seasons for clues to the end while waiting for any news from HBO or rumors from the cast and crew. And it is not just the fans preparing for the end, those who have worked on the show all these years are also winding down now that production is finally over, and the series is going through post-production, none more so than the men responsible for holding it together all of these years. While speaking to the Hollywood Reporter recently, series show-runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss spoke about life now that the final season is finally about to premiere:

“We always knew this had to be a story that ended when it was time for it to end, and not one that got dragged out until it had worn out its welcome. We knew this moment was coming, but it’s still impossible to prepare yourself fully for it. We’re dealing with it piecemeal as we finish up the season. We’re also in a tremendous amount of denial. Six months from now, you’ll probably find us both wandering down Sunset Boulevard in our Game of Thrones crew jackets, wearing headphones, muttering notes to an assistant director who isn’t there.”

Luckily for the rest of us, HBO has just released a slew of new images from the final season, giving us brief insights into the status of a number of fan favorites going into the final season. Most of the characters look to be in Winterfell itself, which makes sense as the 7th season ended with the White Walkers breaking through the wall and heading into the North of Westeros, and Winterfell being the most likely place to make a stand. Pictured below we see Davos, Varys, Arya, Sansa, Bran, Samwell Tarley, Jon, Brienne, Daenerys, Tyrion, and Jamie Lannister, the latter of whom have not been in Winterfell since the pilot episode of the series. Won’t it be interesting for Jamie and Bran to meet up again, considering the fact that Jamie is the one who crippled him 7 seasons ago? Of course, Cersesi still looks to be in King’s Landing, and I’m doubtful we will ever see her leave the capital, though I could be mistaken.
