Captain Marvel

In this new clip from ‘Captain Marvel’ (out March 8), Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers is shown battling someone that is presumably a Skrull on the top of a moving commuter train.  Carol is still dressed in her black and green Kree Starforce uniform, so this appears to take place early in the film, when she is still suffering from amnesia and may still be going by the name “Vers.”

While Carol is chasing and battling the Skrull, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) are struggling to keep up in a regular car on the streets below.

The biggest mystery in this clip is… can’t she fly?  It doesn’t seem so in here.  Will her powers undergo an evolution over the course of the film?  Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, check out this clip below:

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ ‘Captain Marvel’ is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Advance tickets for ‘Captain Marvel’ are on sale now and according to Fandango, they are the third fastest selling tickets since the service began offering early ticket sales.  Predictably, ‘Captain Marvel’ presales trail only those for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Black Panther’.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, ‘Captain Marvel’ stars Academy Award-winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Yon-Rogg, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lee Pace as Ronan, and Annette Bening as the Supreme Intelligence.   ‘Captain Marvel’ opens in theaters on March 8!
