Next Year's Arrowverse Crossover Will Be "Complicated" And Involve A Character Death

With “Elseworlds” already ramping things up for the Arrowverse, we’ve just learned that the “Crisis On Infinite Earths” storyline (which is next year’s arc) will be even bigger. CW president Mark Pedowitz hasn’t been sharing any plot details but is stressing that we’re in for something huge when the episodes hit. It is planned to be so big that they’re already getting prepared for it!

According to Pedowitz,

“It will be the biggest, the most complicated one that they’ve done, but I am proud to say that they are doing it and we are supporting them… I can’t tell you if it will follow the comic book version, but it will take some big swings.”

The original comic crossover was a 12-issue series that had some major deaths in the DC Universe and caused changes that are still being felt today. While Pedowitz wouldn’t share how closely the show’s adaptation would be to the comics, he did share that it would feature a character’s death.

As to who will be involved? That hasn’t been made clear yet, but you can likely expect Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and a certain vigilante from Gotham City to be appearing. As to the ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ who were absent this time around? Pedowitz hopes that they’ll show up:

“It’s going to be the biggest one we ever did. The only reason Legends wasn’t this year was the complications in production of doing these things. We don’t want to wear out everybody before the season ends. But we’re talking about a number of different ways to go. It is Crisis on Infinite Earths, and if you know the history, things collapse.”

It sounds like nothing will ever be the same for The Arrowverse after they experience the “Crisis On Infinite Earths”!
