ABC Is Venturing Into The Bermuda Triangle With New Series Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle has long been a source of mystery, and now ABC is planning to explore it with a potential new scripted television series titled ‘Triangle.’ The new show has been written by Jon Harmon Feldman (‘Tru Calling’,’No Ordinary Family’) and Sonny Postiglione (‘Life on Mars’) of Random Hill and would be produced by ABC Studios. At this time, only a pilot of the series has been ordered with no further details on a potential cast or director for the show.

The new series is being described as:

What if the Bermuda Triangle was not a watery grave in the middle of the ocean, but a land lost in time that has trapped travelers over the course of human history?

When a family is shipwrecked in this strange land they must band together with a group of like-minded inhabitants — from throughout history — to survive and somehow find a way home.

This one sounds like an exciting mixture of survival and adventure with a science fiction twist, possibly even horror depending on what survival consists of and their obstacles are.

Feldman and Postiglione will also be executive producing the show alongside Random Hill’s Gwartz. This pilot season we’ve seen the network pick up the genre series ‘Stumptown’ based on a graphic novel and ‘Until the Wedding’, ‘The Baker and the Beauty’, ‘NYPD Blue’, and Heather Graham’s ‘The Hypnotist’s Love Story’. With only two new genre shows in the works, it seems ABC is losing interest in changing the demographic.

Are you excited for a show based on the Bermuda Triangle? Do you feel that ‘Triangle’ will be picked up to series on ABC? Do you worry that with genre shows on the decline for ABC that it could be bad news for existing shows such as Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
