Ken Jeong

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains both mild and perhaps major SPOILERS for ‘Avengers: Endgame’, so proceed with caution.

It appears that Ken Jeong will continue the Russo Brothers’ tradition of sneaking in cameos that call back to their sitcom roots in ‘Avengers: Endgame’.  Before they were tasked with crafting the big screen adventures of the most famous superheroes around, Joe and Anthony Russo got their start working on ‘Arrested Development’ and ‘Community’ and have integrated references to those shows into the Marvel movies.  ‘Community’ star Danny Pudi had a tiny role in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, while his co-star Jim Rash popped up in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.  The Bluth family’s stair car from ‘Arrested Development’ was also seen at the airport in ‘Civil War’.  Then, in last year’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, eagle-eyed fans caught a glimpse of Tobias Funke from ‘Arrested Development’ in his full Blue Man Group drag, as part of The Collector’s collection.  (Although in this case, the character was not played by his original actor, David Cross.)

Jeong stole scenes as Ben Chang on ‘Community’ and that led to his getting his own short-lived sitcom, ‘Dr. Ken’.  He reached a wider audience in the three ‘Hangover’ movies and he was part of the ensemble cast of last year’s hit ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.

There is no word on what Jeong’s cameo in ‘Endgame’ will consist of, so keep your eyes peeled.

In addition to that, it is heavily rumored that some deceased Marvel characters will appear in this film, which is likely to contain a time travel story component, although that isn’t confirmed.  It is believed that The Ancient One, Crossbones, and Loki will appear in some capacity, and now another name has surfaced.

According to rumors from Heroic Hollywood, Renee Russo will reprise her role as Frigga, Thor’s natural mother, Loki’s adopted mother, and Odin’s wife.  Frigga was killed in ‘Thor: The Dark World’ and her appearance in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is not confirmed, much less explained.  Will Thor encounter her during the team’s time-traveling exploits?  Will she appear in a dream sequence or inside of the Soul Stone?  We’ll have to wait to find out.

Would you like to see Frigga returned to life in ‘Endgame’?

‘Avengers: Endgame’ will assemble in theaters on April 26.
