Complaints about Bryan Singer directing ‘Red Sonja‘ had already come to Millennium Films’ attention before new accusations against the director arose, but the studio isn’t budging on their decision to have him bring the movie to life.

The news came from producer Avi Lerner who shared:

“I continue to be in development for Red Sonja and Bryan Singer continues to be attached.”

If any of the accusations of the four men who are accusing Singer of having sex with them while they were minors end up being proven as true, this status could change. At this time, he still has a job that will come with a payment of up to 10 million dollars.

Lerner went on to say:

“The over $800 million Bohemian Rhapsody has grossed, making it the highest grossing drama in film history, is testament to his remarkable vision and acumen. I know the difference between agenda driven fake news and reality, and I am very comfortable with this decision. In America, people are innocent until proven otherwise.”

After the recent story of these four claims came out, Singer released a statement saying that it “rehashes claims from bogus lawsuits.” He went on to share that the article was originally going to be published by Esquire Magazine but even though the outlet turned it down due to them unable to verify the sources cited, The Atlantic decided to print it anyway:

“The last time I posted about this subject, Esquire magazine was preparing to publish an article written by a homophobic journalist who has a bizarre obsession with me dating back to 1997. After careful fact-checking and, in consideration of the lack of credible sources, Esquire chose not to publish this piece of vendetta journalism.

That didn’t stop this writer from selling it to The Atlantic. It’s sad that The Atlantic would stoop to this low standard of journalistic integrity. Again, I am forced to reiterate that this story rehashes claims from bogus lawsuits filed by a disreputable cast of individuals willing to lie for money or attention. And it is no surprise that, with Bohemian Rhapsody being an award-winning hit, this homophobic smear piece has been conveniently timed to take advantage of its success.”

Time will tell if Bryan Singer is either cleared of these charges or if Millennium Films will choose to fire the director over the press he is receiving.
