McFarlane Previews Their Newest Fantasies
As a person who has spent most of their life with an eye on the toy industry, it’s been truly wonderful to watch McFarlane Toys make such a big comeback in recent years after many of their popular older lines faded into obscurity. They never really went away, but they definitely quieted their output for a little while there, which is why it’s so exciting to see them return to form with new products that feel much more like their older products. This week they premiered two awesome new pieces from two of pop cultures favorite fantasy franchises, which you can check out below!
First up we’ve got the newly announced Drogon Deluxe Figure from ‘Game Of Thrones’! Drogon is the second of the three dragons from the show to be announced for this line, which is actually part of the ‘McFarlane Movie Maniacs’ line rather than their new ‘Game Of Thrones’ toyline. While that might sound a little confusing, it makes way more sense when you consider that these dragon figures are sadly not in scale with the full ‘Game Of Thrones’ line. Other than a teaser image, there isn’t much info available yet for McFarlane’s new Drogon figure, so be sure to stay tuned for more information soon!
If ‘Game Of Thrones’ isn’t your thing, perhaps you’d be more excited for a new figure based on Jim Henson’s ‘Labyrinth’? McFarlane has just announced a second all new version of Jareth The Goblin King. This 7″ scale figure sports a striking resemblance to the late David Bowie and comes packaged with a small Goblin figure as an accessory. No release date has been announced for this figure yet, although it will likely hit stores later this year.
The Funko Forecast
Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
Funko ‘Return’s For More ‘Star Wars’
Few franchises have gotten the amount of love from Funko that the iconic ‘Star Wars’ license has received. Funko knows that the demand is there and is more than happy to churn out as many characters and variations of characters as people are willing to buy, so it’s no big surprise to see them doubling back a bit to the third film in the original trilogy, ‘Return Of The Jedi’ for some new POP! Vinyls including a number of new takes on old favorites. Coming soon are new POP! Vinyls like Han Solo (Endor), Leia Organa (Endor), Darth Vader (Final Duel), Emperor Palpatine (Final Duel), Lando Calrissian (Death Star II), and a new version of Wicket the Ewok! There will also be a Target exclusive Flocked Baby Nippet Ewok POP! as well as a 10″ Super Deluxe POP! Vinyl of Wicket! These are all set to hit stores soon! 
London Toy Fair Reveals
While we’re over here getting hyped about New York Toy Fair in just a few short weeks, Funko is already announcing a boatload of new products across the pond at London Toy Fair! This year they’re showing off a ton of new POP! Vinyls, Super Cute Plushies, Funko 5-Star, DC Primal Age, Vynl 2-Packs, and more!
