Another person associated with ‘The Walking Dead‘ has confirmed that the Rick Grimes films are slated to hit the small screen and aren’t currently eyeing a theatrical release. While that could always change, thanks to outlets such as Fathom Events, at this time if you were hoping to see Andrew Lincoln grace the big screen while killing Walkers, I’m sorry to say that it just isn’t looking like it will happen. This latest reveal comes from Skybound’s Johnny O’Dell who was talking about the upcoming show in Skybound’s ‘The Walking Dead’ mailbag.
The company has always been open to fans without giving away too much in the spoiler department, and when asked about the destination of these films, O’Dell stated:
“There are a lot of details that still have to be sorted out for the Rick Grimes movies, but for now the plan is to air the films on AMC.
Not much has been revealed as to what we’ll see in these movies quite yet nor when the first one will be released though Scott Gimple has been hinting for ages now that movies and other forms of entertainment were in the works for the franchise. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest for this to be available for at least one night.
Are you looking forward to movies based on ‘The Walking Dead’? Do you think Rick Grimes will find his way into a theater near you or will this be completely locked down for a television release? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
