The Witcher

Fans of the novels and video games of ‘The Witcher‘ have been eager to see what Netflix’s upcoming fantasy series is going to look like and a new rumor is suggesting that it should be a hit. At least, according to the thoughts of executives who are reportedly preparing to greenlight multiple seasons of the series before it even lands on the streaming service. With Henry Cavill‘s future as Superman in the DC Films still up in the air, if this proves true, it could be the final kryptonite needed to put any thoughts of his return to bed. A multi-season order would lock up much of Cavill’s time, and with DC not having a Superman film in development, at least publically, it would seem that the actor has the time to commit to an ongoing series.

There hasn’t been much news about the series since Anna Shaffer was cast in the final principal role for the series at the end of October, so this is potentially great news for the future of the series.

This rumor came from Geeks Worldwide editor in chief KC Walsh who has been knocking it out of the park with exclusive news from Warner Bros, DC films, and since Cavill is connected due to previously playing Superman, this doesn’t feel like it wouldn’t end up being true. Walsh has shared that the streaming giant is so happy with how the first season is coming together that it seriously considering a multiple seasons pick up before the first season even being completed let alone released.

Here is the Tweet which he shared the news in:

Again, at this time this is just a rumor though it shouldn’t come as a surprise if we hear about multiple seasons being ordered in the near future. Especially to help compete in the fantasy world which HBO currently dominates with ‘Game of Thrones’ and Amazon Studios hopes to take a chunk out of with ‘Lord of the Rings.’
