We know that Fox’s ‘Gotham‘ is going to have some time jumps so the show can introduce us to Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, but he won’t be the only character who is showing his age in the upcoming final season. Ben McKenzie‘s take on Jim Gordon is looking worse for wear as the events of “No Man’s Land” combined with the passage of time will give us a more weathered take on the character.
The final season is titled “Legend of the Dark Knight,” and while that clearly means we’ll have the spotlight focussed on the coming of Batman, the show has always been about the supporting cast just as much as it has been about Wayne. If anything, you could argue that Gordon and Batman’s rogue gallery has stolen the show so far and that they are more critical to the narrative.
While the latest photos of McKenzie as Gordon still have him not sporting the mustache he is known for, his hair is starting to go gray and look much closer to what you’d expect from his comic book counterpart which you can see in the Tweet below:

I’m still hoping we see him after another time jump or potentially at the very end of the series sporting that iconic facial hair.
Are you thrilled that ‘Gotham’ is starting to show the characters will be aging for the final season of the series? Do you think that adding in time jumps was the perfect way to get us closer to when Bruce will end up becoming The Dark Knight? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
With Gotham on the brink of total anarchy and cut off from the outside world, only Jim Gordon, Bruce Wayne and a handful of heroes remain behind to retake the city. Inspired by the “No Man’s Land” arc from the comics, villains including Penguin, the Riddler, the Sirens and Jeremiah have taken claim on various regions of the city. Will order be restored, or will chaos reign in Gotham?
‘Gotham’ returns to Fox for its fifth and final season on January 3rd, 2019!
