The Riddler And Penguin Are Going Comic Accurate For The Final Season Of Gotham

Gotham‘ has long been putting Penguin and Riddler in central roles for the ongoing story of Batman’s origins and now the series is planning on making them a bit more comic book accurate. At least, in the looks that these two will be rocking for the final outing of the show. Robin Lord Taylor‘s Oswald Cobblepot and Cory Michael Smith’s Edward Nygma have not only been central to the story but their actions have helped put Gotham City on the path to “No Man’s Land” and a young Bruce Wayne on the course to becoming Batman.

We’ve got photos of Penguin in a top hat, monocle, and purple suit while Riddler is rocking an all-green question mark suit and glasses. It would appear that the two aren’t having the best of luck here and it isn’t clear if a young Batman has captured them or perhaps Joker or Bane have moved in on their territory and tied these two up.

I love that in one shot it looks like they’re thrilled about whatever they see and in the other two, we see them captured. Penguin doesn’t seem all that worried even when tied up in these images while in the last one Riddler doesn’t appear thrilled by their situation.

With so many villains to take care of it won’t be surprising to see some of them get locked up pretty quickly. With how prominent these two have been throughout the story one would hope that this scene doesn’t appear too soon after the season premieres unless they are able to escape shortly after their incarceration.

What do you think of the new shots of Penguin and Riddler for the upcoming season of ‘Gotham’? Are you happy that the series seems to be trying to portray these villains as comic accurate as possible as the series is coming to a close? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

With Gotham on the brink of total anarchy and cut off from the outside world, only Jim Gordon, Bruce Wayne and a handful of heroes remain behind to retake the city. Inspired by the “No Man’s Land” arc from the comics, villains including Penguin, the Riddler, the Sirens and Jeremiah have taken claim on various regions of the city. Will order be restored, or will chaos reign in Gotham?

‘Gotham’ returns to Fox for its fifth and final season on January 3rd, 2019!
