Without giving a specific spoiler to her character’s fate, Maisie Williams shares what the final scene was like for Arya Stark in ‘Game of Thrones‘ describing it as “beautiful.” The final season is coming to the HBO epic based on George R.R. Martin‘s work and it has taken the world by storm. As the cast and crew have been saying their goodbyes, they’ve done so with tiny hints as to what is to come. A great example of this was when Peter Dinklage shared that “death can be a great way out” for Tyrion Lannister while Iain Glen may have spoiled Ser Jorah Mormont’s fate as well.
So what can we expect from Arya? For anyone who has followed her progression throughout the series, you can see this as both a sad yet perfectly fitting goodbye to the character:
“I ended on the perfect scene. I was alone –- shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone. But I was alone, and I had watched a lot of other people wrap. I knew the drill, I had seen the tears and heard the speeches.”
While she will miss the cast and crew she has worked with for much of her life now; the actress isn’t too sad to see it come to an end:
“I got to the end, and I didn’t want more. I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just less characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.”
With the various wars and weddings, we’ve seen the bulk of the characters we’ve come to love and hate die throughout the series. Now, the final goodbyes are coming.
Do you feel that Arya being “bloody alone” is the right way to leave the character? Will she be alone or just the scene she is in will have her separate from any surviving friends and family? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
