The Kid Who Would Be King

If you’ve ever wanted the King Arthur legend told perfectly for the target audience of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ this is the trailer for you! ‘The Kid Who Would Be King’ gives us an older children’s tale that will likely be enjoyed by kids, young adults, and parents alike. For fans of ‘Attack The Block,’ it should be noted that this is by the same director, Joe Cornish, and you can tell he hasn’t lost any of his talent from the last film.

The movie has Andy Serkis’ son Louis Ashbourne Serkis playing Alexander Elliot. This 12-year-old ends up in an abandoned building site and at the back lot of it finds what just happens to be a sword in the ground. Yes, he discovers Excalibur and when he pulls it from the stone it is embedded in it releases Rebecca Ferguson as Morgana from where she has been imprisoned.

Now, it is Alexander’s task to form an army and stop this ancient evil from taking over the world.

While the film is slated to be released in March of 2019 in the UK, there isn’t a US release date which I could find.
