Sophie Turner Dark Phoenix

While both Cyclops and Jean Grey have had other lovers in the comic world of the ‘X-Men,’ the two are practically soul mates and Tye Sheridan is sharing how his take on Scott Summers will be in Dark Phoenix.’ Cyclops is often thought of as the leader of the X-Men following Professor X and while his character was prominent in the “Dark Phoenix Saga.” the focus was purely on Jean Grey. Everyone else was a supporting character as she became the Phoenix and eventually the Dark Phoenix.

Some of that sounds like it’ll be playing out in the upcoming installment to the “X-Men” franchise as we see Scott having to help Sophie Turner’s take on Jean in her time of need.

You can read what Sheridan had to say about Scott and Jean below:

“He’s maybe the most affected by what happens to Jean and kinda this unraveling…When she starts to encounter and struggles to handle, and I think he’s directly in front of that. And she’s the one that he loves. He’s going to go to the end of the Earth to save her. And I think that he and Charles kind of set out to help Jean. And throughout the movie you kinda see the X-Men break apart. I think it’s a much more mature version of him. He’s much more focused on getting back to Jean and helping to save her. So it’s really exciting. And there’s also some really fragile moments with him because it’s not easy to handle the fact that the one you love may be going crazy or you don’t know what’s happening…”

Assuming that the film even loosely follows the course plotted out by the comics, we know that things aren’t going to end well for everyone in the movie.

How do you think we’ll see Tye Sheridan portray a leader having to deal with not knowing how to help or save the woman he loves? Will Cyclops survive to the end of ‘Dark Phoenix’? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!

‘Dark Phoenix’ will rise in your local theaters on June 7th, 2019!
