We’ve already seen in “The Arrowverse” that there is a Multiverse with ‘Supergirl’ not being from the same Earth as ‘Arrow’ and ‘Flash.’ Now it appears that the DC Universe will be set in the same way. We’ve heard previously that ‘Swamp Thing’ and ‘Stargirl’ wouldn’t be in the same shared Earth as ‘Titans‘ and ‘Doom Patrol‘ but that also won’t necessarily mean that future crossovers are out of the question. DC is long known for having a multiverse just like Marvel does which would allow for a crossover to happen in a Crisis styled event.
Johns teased the Multiverse concept stating:
“It is much like the multiverse in the comics, and I don’t think there’s any hard, fast rules saying that Stargirl and Swamp Thing aren’t in the same universe as Titans and Doom Patrol. Right now I’m just working on Stargirl and trying to make Stargirl the best Stargirl TV show it can possibly be. Whether it connects to another show down the line is open-ended.”
This almost even makes it sound as if they could exist on the same Earth which wasn’t previously the case. We’ll have to see how this plays out as the shows develop but it would be easy enough to tie them together down the line with some minor universe building by just mentioning the events of one on a news report in another.
Do you think that these characters will end up in different universes of the Multiverse? Will this all take place on the same version of Earth? Could a crossover between them make sense if they are from different worlds? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
