We’ve known that ‘Constantine: The Legend Continues‘ was coming and now The CW has announced this CW Seed film would be airing in October. In this animated adventure, you’ll hear Matt Ryan back as Constantine expanding the role we loved from his solo adventures and on the upcoming season of DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow.’
While ‘Constantine: The Legend Continues’ will eventually get a DVD and Blu-ray release that will contain deleted scenes, the actual film is slated to be viewable on the network on October 15th, 2018. For those unfamiliar with the film, it is described as follows:
CONSTANTINE: THE LEGEND CONTINUES follows DC’s popular comic book character John Constantine (voiced by DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW’s Matt Ryan), a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line?, CONSTANTINE uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.
Based on characters from DC, CONSTANTINE: THE LEGEND CONTINUES is from Berlanti Productions and Phantom Four Films in association with Warner Bros. Animation and Blue Ribbon Content, with executive producers David S. Goyer, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schecter, and Sam Register.
This isn’t the first animated outing which we’ve seen Ryan reprise the role of ‘Constantine’ in either as he was the leading actor in the recent ‘Justice League Dark‘ film. It has not been made clear though if these animated stories are considered canon to The Arrowverse or if they are considered their own entities.
