Black Widow

In a world where movies studios play their cards close to the vest, no one does it better than Marvel Studios, but now it looks like a spy has stolen the very synopsis of ‘Black Widow‘ out from under their S.H.I.E.L.D. level of security. When Scarlett Johansson was introduced as Natasha Romanova in ‘Iron Man 2’ no one knew she would quickly become a fan-favorite, but both the writers and actress have increasingly done her more justice in each subsequent film.

Now, rumors that this superspy is finally getting her own movie after all these years have been surfacing and seeming to confirm that is a synopsis for the film.

The synopsis that has been leaked is as follows:

At birth, the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.

A few more details are also listed here:

Unless some remaining aspect of the U.S.S.R. is trying to take out Natasha after the events of ‘Avengers 4’ which it is unclear that she’ll even survive, this could very well be taking place prior to ‘Iron Man 2.’ It looks like we’ll be getting a mix of her past and present for whatever time period this movie is set for. Depending on the time period, this would also be a fantastic movie to find a way to include the likes of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum such as Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, and Maria Hill. Also, it could be a great way to bring back some Hydra agents such as Alexander Pierce or Jasper Sitwell.
