The first track from William Shatner‘s upcoming holiday collection ‘Shatner Claus: The Christmas Album’ has been released by Cleopatra Records. In this take on the old chestnut ‘Jingle Bells’, Shatner is joined by rock legend Henry Rollins, who sings the hook. But let’s be honest, Shatner isn’t releasing an album because he wants to show off his pristine vocals. He knows this will just be a fun novelty to give your holidays the foil-and-glitter tackiness they need. Check out ‘Jingle Bells’ below:
Rollins isn’t the only collaborator, as Shatner has enlisted an all-star lineup of guests, including chart-topping country star Brad Paisley, folk singer Judy Collins, blues legend Joe Louis Walker, classic rockers Rick Wakeman, Billy Gibbons, and Todd Rundgren and punk icon Iggy Pop.

This may be the only Shatner project we see (or rather hear) for a while, as he has expressed a desire to basically take it easy. As he recently said:
“Right now I’m happy doing what I’m doing. I’ve been offered many series over the years. But I haven’t done them because of the commitment of time. And at this stage of my life that’s more valuable than anything else.”
Will you be decking the halls to the sweet tunes of William Shatner this year?
