PLAYMOBIL Scares Up Spooky New Playsets
While they’re primarily known for creating some of the market’s best interactive building and play sets, and more recently have been delving into some top quality licensed fair with the ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ brands, PLAYMOBIL isn’t really known for delving too deep into niche markets like horror or sci-fi. This fall they’re looking to change that with their new horror-themed playsets that should be arriving in stores just in time for Halloween!
We say ‘horror-themed’ but being PLAYMOBIL these new sets are all still very family friendly, and give a glimpse at what we are going to call the softer side of spooky with a Take Along Haunted House playset as the real centerpiece of the collection, plus several small character and accessory packs that will expand the thrills with monstrous new figures like a Vampire, a Wolfman, a Mummy, and more! These sets are all hitting stores now so be sure to keep your eyes peeled to add these terrifying new horror-themed items to your collection! Something tells us these are going to be quite popular with parents who are fans of horror themselves, so don’t wait until these ghost off of shelves to pick them up! PLAYMOBIL Take Along Haunted House (9312):
Get ready for a spooky time at the Take Along Haunted House. Looks like the scientist is mixing up a new potion in his lab, while a vampire awakens from a deep slumber inside his coffin. Watch out for the large spider descending from above or the mice scurrying along the floors below. In a convenient take-along case, this set is perfect for on-the-go fun. Simply open the two sides and fold down the floor plates to reveal a spooktastic haven. Set includes Scientist, Monster, and Vampire figures, desk, potion bottles, quill, spider web, torch, coffin, skull, lantern, and lots other accessories.

The Funko Forecast
Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
Must Go Faster
It’s been months since we heard anything regarding Funko’s previously announced Jurassic Park Jeep with Ellie Sattler POP! Rides set, but it looks like we finally have some more information! The set, which was previously solicited and then ‘cancelled’, is now up for pre-order again via online sites like our friends at Entertainment Earth, where it looks to be releasing in December as ‘Jurassic Park Park Vehicle’. It’s worth noting the name change, as it was rumored that the reason for the previous cancellation involved it being called a ‘Jeep’ and infringing on the Jeep brand’s copyright. Apparently, the sculpt of the vehicle has now been updated to look less like an official Jeep brand vehicle and it no longer bears the name. Either way, we are just excited to see Ellie coming to our POP! Vinyls collection soon!
Functional & Dysfunctional Families Coming To Funko
This fall the team at Funko is bringing some of television history’s favorite families to their ever-growing POP! Vinyls line! But these two groups couldn’t possibly be any more different if they tried!
First up we’ve got a bunch of Brady’s coming our way. Yep, Funko has finally circled around to bring us POP! Vinyls from ‘The Brady Bunch’, although they seem to have left a few off the checklist? We’re getting the boys, Greg, Peter, and Bobby, plus the maid Alice, and the girls Marsha and Cindy and…. that’s it? For some reason we can only assume is ironic, Funko seems to have forgotten all about Jan Brady, the middle girl!. We also aren’t getting the parents, Mr. and Ms. Brady just yet, which is surprising considering we’re getting Alice the maid! These ‘Brady Bunch’ POP! Vinyls are expected to hit stores later this month!
Finally, from the other end of the wholesomeness spectrum, we’ve got The Bundy family from ‘Married With Children’. Funko is bringing us Al, Peggy, Bud, and Kelly this fall, plus a Target exclusive ‘Football’ Al, and a special Chase Variant of Peggy in a cheetah-print top. These are anticipated to hit stores now, so be sure to keep an eye out for them!
