We know that all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films are set in different genres, but interestingly enough, ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ served as a major inspiration for ‘Captain Marvel.’ Looking past that fact that we have a strong female lead, it was more of how the film showed certain scenes which served as the inspiration for bringing us the MCU’s strongest superhero so far!

The recent Total Film September issue is where Marvel Studios’ head honcho Kevin Feige shared the details:

Specifically, he goes into detail as to how the action sequences are handled in the movie are given life by this iconic work of science fiction. He started off by sharing that as the movie is set in the 90s that “there are definitely homages to our favorite 90s action films.” While much of the movie takes place in outer space there is also ground-level shots that will be similar to the second ‘Terminator’ film like “those cool street-level fights and car chases.” It isn’t clear if these chases or fights would be taking Earth or another planet.

Larson herself is excited about the film sharing that, “I’m proud of what it is we’re making. All of the hype will be worth it.”

Hype is one thing that Marvel hasn’t failed to deliver on in recent years, so we’re eager to see how they’ll be tackling ‘Captain Marvel’ when she makes her first on-screen appearance in this prequel film before blowing up the still untitled ‘Avengers 4.’

Are you excited to see ‘Captain Marvel’ when the film is released on the big screen? Do you feel that the examples listed are exactly how you’d like to see ‘Terminator 2’ inspiration delivered? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
