Don Cheadle appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ and as part of his segment, rehashed a clip from several months ago from when he and Mark Ruffalo appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to promote ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and Ruffalo flat out SPOILED the ending! Well, actually, Ruffalo caught himself “half” way.
In the ‘GMA’ clip, Ruffalo explains that things don’t go well for the heroes, as is the norm. “Let me just say this, it doesn’t end well for the superheroes.” But then he exclaims, “Wait’ll you see this next one. Ha– everybody dies.” Cheadle plays it off with a joking, “Dude!” Ruffalo appears to look offset seeking approval before sheepishly asking, “Can we rewind that part?”
Back on the ‘Kimmel’ stage, Cheadle points out:
“Well if you listen very closely, he actually started to say the absolute truth, and then had to try to say ‘everybody’ after he almost said ‘half.’ It was like, ‘You just messed the whole thing up!'”
As a result, Cheadle stated that Ruffalo is no longer allowed to promote any movie, for fear that he’ll drop more Marvel spoilers during them. Maybe Ruffalo and Tom Holland should be sent away on a luxury vacation the month before ‘Avengers 4’ drops. Between the two, they could very well spoil every Marvel movie for the next few years, including ones we don’t even know about yet.
Here is the clip from the ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ show including the Ruffalo faux pas.
Maybe Ruffalo had it planned to actually say ‘everybody’ and just slipped up. It doesn’t appear that anyone really caught it at the time, though, as it didn’t seem to make any news. And that’s taking into account that ‘Infinity War’ is a loose adaptation of the comic book miniseries ‘Infinity Gauntlet’, so a few thousand people knew on some level that this was a possibility.
At any rate, now that you’ve been adequately spoil-proofed, you can re-watch ‘Infinity War’ to your heart’s content as it is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and digital.
