This post is going to be full of some spoilery photos as well as some theories on where they are going so be warned! While we all know that the villains that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) will be fighting are going to be Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti), the filmmakers haven’t really given too much more on the film. Well this post is going to be referencing Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) as well as give us a fun shot of Stan Lee’s cameo in the movie!
That’s right true believers thanks to a post over at Coming Soon we’ve been given a chance to show you the first shots of Stan ‘The Man’ Lee himself in the latest of his comic book creations coming up on the big screen (and he sure looks excited to be there!)
Last Warning: Once again, Spoilery Pictures Below!
First up we’re going to be talking a bit more about Gwen Stacy. In the past we’ve referenced a certain shot that may be linked to Gwen Stacy’s death as she’s wearing an outfit that matches what she wore in the comics the night she dies in some of the early production sets. Well while we don’t have any confirmation there we do have some new images that seem to tie in the focus on Gwen as well as something big happening with her!
First up it’s Graduation Day for our favorite kids and Gwen is rocking it as valedictorian. The big thing we get from this though is that clearly Parker and Stacy have gotten even closer by now because while graduation starts innocent enough for these two, the kiss gives away exactly how romantic our two have become!
Things seem innocent enough here. Aside from active libido’s and the iconic outfit she wore on her death (which could just be tribute) there’s another still from the movie that really just stands out showing what my guess is going to reflect Peter’s guilt. This could be just a flash back or it could be his imagination working on overdrive from the loss of Gwen. Personally I think this would be extremely fitting to have Captain Stacy looking like this and yelling at Peter that he promised he’d keep Gwen safe and let her die.
That would be a very powerful scene if done right. Honestly I’m glad to just see Dennis Leary back. Again what I mentioned above is just speculation. It could quite easily just be a nightmarish dream sequence. We really just won’t know until 2014.
All of these theories on the death of Gwen Stacy might be a bit of a downer for you this morning so I saved the best for last! We’re going to be ending on a happy note today as we see a picture of Stan Lee excited to be on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 filming his required cameo! Actually it kind of looks like he’s pointing at something (possibly The Amazing Spider-Man swinging by?) but pure unadulterated excitement sounds like a great description of Stan Lee so we’ll just go with that!
So what do you think of the photos? Let us know if you think ‘The Death of Gwen Stacy’ will indeed be part of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ storyline.
‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field is slated to be in theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014.
