The ‘Charmed’ reboot coming to The CW is months away, but fans can keep their anticipation at bay with two new teasers!
The first teaser is titled ‘Miss Tea,’ and features the three new Charmed Ones playing with an old Ouija board. Big mistake! The three get a little more than they bargained for when it actually starts working. Check out the first teaser below!
The teaser could be a hint that the Ouija board will come into play in a bigger way in the series. One theme that will definitely be important is the sisterhood between the Vera sisters, Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) and Mel (Melonie Diaz), which can be seen in the second teaser, ‘Girl Power.’ Check out the second teaser below!
The theme of sisterhood was huge in the original ‘Charmed’ series that ran for eight seasons. The series followed the original Charmed Ones, the Halliwell sisters, as they discovered their destiny as witches. The similarities between the reboot and the original have many fans skeptical. Original ‘Charmed’ star Holly Marie Combs has even discussed her skepticism about the upcoming series. Mantock addressed the backlash at San Diego Comic-Con last month and told fans that the show isn’t a copy of the original and she hopes people will give the reboot a chance. Mantock said:
“We’re new characters living in a world. It’s a new set of witches who’ve discovered they have powers. I think it’s maybe a misconception to say it’s a rip-off. I saw somebody yesterday describe it as a tribute to [the original] and I thought that was quite nice.”
She continued, saying:
“Everyone’s allowed their own opinion and I think it’s testament to how much fans really love and cherished ‘Charmed’ for what it is. And there are lots of people who are really excited for it. So, I’ve got my ears open to them and I’m hoping we can turn some people on to it as well because I do, I think it’s a really good show.”
The new ‘Charmed’ will premiere on The CW Sunday, October 14 at 9 p.m. ET.
