If you’ve been looking for a ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog‘ revival than you’re in luck, assuming you enjoy reading comics. There is currently no official news of a television show, web series, or movie bringing these characters back but a limited edition one-shot comic was announced at the ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog’ Reunion at San Diego Comic-Con 2018.

While Neil Patrick Harris previously stated that he “would be so excited if that were to ever come to pass” when asked about another outing as the character and that he would “certainly sign up for the sequel,” I suspect this isn’t what the actor had in mind.

The reunion panel included creators Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen as well as stars Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion. Harris was, unfortunately, absent but even if this isn’t what he had in mind, I’m sure the actor would have been thrilled about this news as well.

The new book will be released through Dark Horse Comics on November 14th, 2018 and is another one-shot as we’ve previously seen Zack Whedon tackle a few of them in the past.

On this new one, Joss Whedon shared:

“It’s called Dr. Horrible, Best Friends Forever. It’s about Dr. Horrible and his best friend Captain Hammer.”

Day quickly added in, “That sounds like a children’s story that would end in murder.” If Dr. Horrible ended up getting his way that would likely be very true as well!

As to an actual sequel? Harris isn’t the only one who would return as Fillion stated:

“Two things terrify me: singing in public and Shakespeare. But I have a rule that if Joss calls, I say yes.”

Now, we just need to get Joss on board. If only he wasn’t busy with that ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ reboot.

Are you looking forward to more of ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog’ even if it is only a comic? Would you be open to an actual sequel to the web series or has it been too long at this point? Share your thoughts below!
