If you loved the video game series ‘Life is Strange’ by Square Enix than this will be some exciting news for you. The creative team behind it have teamed up with Titan Comics to deliver a brand new comic series based off the games. It is a return to the world that readers have been asking for and Claudia Leonardi will be illustrating a story written by Emma Viecel (‘Olivia Twist,’ ‘Doctor Who’). Andrea Izzo is coloring the book while Manda Schank is going to illustrate the first cover.

Titan Comics is known for their tie-in books and comics to shows, films, and video games, so it is exciting to see that they’ll be returning to the world of ‘Life is Strange.’ According to the press release, the book “returns readers to Arcadia Bay in the company of fan-favorite characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, charting the shocking course of a possible future after one of the two endings of the game.”

This story will tie into the first game of the series:

“[‘Life is Strange] follows the story of Max Caulfield, a senior majoring in photography who discovers that she can rewind time when trying to save her best friend, Chloe Price. The pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of fellow student Rachel Amber and uncover a dark side to the life in Arcadia Bay. Meanwhile, Max quickly learns that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future.”

Vieceli, who will be writing on the series, really fell in love with the first game and wanted to take that tone into the comic:

“Like so many players all over the world, I fell hard for Max and her story from the release of episode one, and every chapter brought more heartache, tears and emotional rollercoasters. One of the wonders of the series is that every player may have taken Max and Chloe on a unique journey, and so distilling their possible futures into one mini-series is a huge thing. Importantly, as with the game, it must always be remembered that what we’re creating here is one possibility out of many. I’m excited with the story we’ve opted for, and I hope readers will be too!”

The first game is already out with the second due to drop on most major platforms on September 27th, 2018! As to the comic, you can expect ‘Life is Strange’ #1 to be at your local comic shop in September of this year.
