Titans

There has been some confusion as to whether or not ‘Titans’ will be available on the upcoming DC Universe subscription streaming service, but Minka Kelly who stars on the series as Dove/Dawn Granger says that it will be in place when the service launches later this year.

“DC comics is launching their own streaming service, and they will be launching it with this show in the fall.”

‘Titans’ will be the only new original program available when DC Universe launches.  Beta testing will commence in August and you can still sign up for that.  Additional original shows– ‘Swamp Thing’, ‘Harley Quinn’, ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ and ‘Doom Patrol’ will be available in 2019.  DC Universe will also offer a cornucopia of vintage DC TV series, theatrical movies, direct-to-video animated movies and even comics that a subscriber can download and read.  With membership, one also becomes eligible to buy exclusive merchandise, like the new ‘Justice League’ action figure line, based on the classic 2001-04 animated series and to enter to win various sweepstakes and contests.

Kelly’s Dove, along with her partner Hawk, played by Alan Ritchson, will debut in the second episode of ‘Titans’ and may return in later installments.  The series stars Brenton Thwaites as Robin/Dick Grayson, Teagan Croft as Raven/Rachel Roth, Anna Dip as Starfire/Koriand’r and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy/Garfield Logan.  Curran Walters will appear as Jason Todd, while Conor Leslie portrays Donna Troy, though whether or not she appears as Wonder Girl is unknown.  Mark Antony Krupa portrays Konstantin Kovar, who in the comics is a sometime enemy of the Titans, the Russian hero Red Star, who wound up joining the team later.  The cast also includes Lindsey Gort as police officer Amy Rohrbach, Liza Colón-Zayas as Detective Perez, Seamus Dever in an undisclosed villain role and Jarreth J. Merz as the assassin The Acolyte.

The Doom Patrol pops up and consists of Bruno Bichir as The Chief, April Bowlby as Elastiwoman, James Michaels as Robot Man and Dwain Murphy as Negative Man.  Another threat that the ‘Titans’ will battle is The Nuclear Family, which includes Melody Johnson (Mom), Zach Smadu (Dad or Step-Dad), Jeni Ross (Sis) and Logan Thompson (Biff).

DC Universe is expected to launch in August.
