‘A Quiet Place‘ is unarguably the horror hit of 2018 and while a sequel will most likely happen, we haven’t known much past that. John Krasinski not just co-wrote and directed the film but also starred in it as well and now we’ve learned that he will be back for the sequel! It isn’t clear precisely what capacity we’ll see him return, however, producer Andrew Form did state that he is all set to come back.

Form has recently been doing interviews in anticipation of the home release for ‘A Quiet Place’ and when the topic of a sequel came up, he shared that the studio isn’t forcing a quick turn around and wants quality over quantity. Here is what he had to say about the situation:

““Oh [Krasinski is] definitely involved. We’re lucky on this one. I’ve had movies where the studio says to you, ‘Here’s your date. Let’s go!’ and on this one, we’re not rushing anything, which is amazing. So we’re gonna take our time, we’re gonna figure out where to go, but there is no rush on it, and we’re just starting to talk about it. We’re figuring out what everyone’s involvement’s gonna be and what the actual next movie’s gonna be. The first one is so special to us that we really want to take our time with this and not rush anything.””

It is always refreshing when a sequel isn’t pushed into production as a cash grab. To successfully build a series, franchise, or even a single sequel, it is important to give the creators time to work their magic. While he couldn’t share the extent of Krasinski’s involvement, he did share that they wanted to do things right by the sequel:

“It’s such a special movie to us, the experience and everything. It’s easy to rush these, and we’ve made movies in the past where we’ve rushed them through, and we’ve felt it, and we just don’t wanna do it on this one. We really don’t. We really just wanna take our time, and’ as long as it takes, it takes. It has to be the right story, just like the first one. It just has to be.”

Hopefully, it won’t take them too long to figure out where to take the next installment of ‘A Quiet place’ but at least they plan to give us another fun movie.
