Netflix has been enjoying quite a bit of success with Stephen King adaptations and their next outing with the master of horror will be ‘In the Tall Grass.’ King wrote the original novel with his son Joe Hill in 2012, and this will be their third outing with the esteemed author. Previously, the streaming giant has already had massive successes with both ‘Gerald’s Game’ and ‘1922’ which were both released last year.

For this upcoming take on ‘In the Tall Grass,’ it looks as if James Marsden (‘Westworld’,’X-Men: Days of Future Past’) is in talks to tackle the starring role while Vincenzo Natali (‘Splice’,’Cube’) is looking to direct. While it isn’t stated if it would be a feature film or an ongoing series, both of King’s prior Netflix outings were filmed, and the novella only would have so much room to grow past a one-shot.

For those unfamiliar with the work, ‘In the Tall Grass’ is about a brother and sister who are Irish-twins. While the two are in college, the sister finds out she is pregnant, and it has been decided that she will live with her aunt and uncle until the child is born. Her brother agrees to go on a cross-country trip for Spring break with her to get her there safely. The journey takes a sudden turn for the worse at a pitstop in an open field they try to find a boy who is shouting for help, and they find themselves trapped in a world of terror when they go to attempt and help the boy.

Are you looking forward to an adaptation of ‘In the Tall Grass’? Do you think that they could make the end of the film even nearly as dark as the novella was? Who would you like to see tackle other roles if you’re familiar with the novella? Share your thoughts below!
