What We Do In The Shadows

FX loves their bloodsucking undead and has just ordered a 10-episode first season of ‘What We Do in the Shadows’! The film was initially by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi who are on board for bringing the show to life as well. The episodes for this comedy series will each have a half-hour runtime.

You know that things went well as the pilot was only ordered three months ago and as they were able to assemble a cast, crew, and film enough to impress the studio – this is a show to watch out for! Of course, fans of the movie will already be eager to see more of the comedic stylings that we’ve already seen.

The show is scheduled to debut in 2019 and, like the film, will follow three vampire roommates who have lived with one another for hundreds upon hundreds of years. FX’s series stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen. While Clement and Waititi both starred in the original film, there is no word as to if they’ll have starring roles in the series as well though cameos wouldn’t be too surprising to see happen.

According to President of originals at FX Nick Grad:

“What We Do in the Shadows only gets better with age thanks to this brilliant adaptation for television by co-creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Their feature version was a hilarious, fresh take on the mundanity of everyday life that even immortals must face. We are thankful to them, Paul Simms and Scott Rudin, and this amazing cast for taking us deeper into the shadows with this series.”

I think we’re all quite excited to see what Clement and Waititi have in store for us in this outing though extending the story always has a chance of taking away from it as well.
