If you can’t get enough of Burt Gummer from six ‘Tremors’ films than you’ll be happy to hear that Michael Gross is already in talks with Universal about ‘Tremors 7’! The sixth film, ‘Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell‘ is set to be released next week, so you know that the studio loves the franchise if they’re already talking about another go with it.

With Kevin Bacon bringing back a new ongoing television series based off of the franchise to Syfy it seemed up in the air if there would be room for both a series and movie take on the franchise. Thankfully for fans of Graboids, it just seems to mean that we’ll be getting more of them and over multiple mediums.

So as to Gross coming back if he can?

“Absolutely. As a matter of fact, I had a conversation about it today at Universal. Believe it or not, they are kicking around ideas for Tremors 7. Whether that actually gets made or not, I have no idea. I’m not gonna bet on it because I’m not a betting man. I’ve lost my shirt too many times on bets, particularly in this business, but they’re talking about what would we do next.”

While it sounds as if the studio has ideas for the film if they produce it, Gross has a few himself. This should come as no surprise to someone who has been playing the same character for nearly 30 years:

“I was having ideas about that while we were still doing Tremors 6. Yes, absolutely I have ideas. I’m not at liberty to divulge them to you, or I’d have to kill you. But yeah. My little brain is cooking about just what’s the next evolution of him, what does he have to face next, and what does he need, what does he want, and how do the monsters change, too, if they do. Where do we take this next? So it’s very much a part of my thought.”

Gummer is seriously in danger in the sixth film though it seems unlikely that they would kill him off if they want to continue the franchise. Of course, there are always flashbacks to other Graboid fighting missions or to even one of Burt’s ancestors as we’ve already seen occur in ‘Tremors 4: The Legend Begins.’

Would you be excited about a seventh ‘Tremors’ movie? Do you hope Gummer survives to go on or would you be happy with another Western flashback? Share your thoughts below!
