If you’re already looking forward to ‘Good Omens‘ then what David Tennant has to say about it will get you more excited. In the upcoming Amazon mini-series based on an absolutely fantastic novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Tennant is playing Crowley who is a demon that has been stationed on earth since the Garden of Eden and who ends up teaming up with his opposite number, Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen, to avert the oncoming apocalypse.

Who knew that the apocalypse could be so funny? Of the series, the actor has shared that “it’s a massive, epic, sweeping show.” He also went on to share that the two main characters “decide that actually, they quite like their life on earth as it is, and humanity being wiped out would mean they’d have to go back and live in heaven and hell, which is not a prospect that particularly cheers them. So they set out to undermine the coming of the Antichrist.”

With the talent involved alone, this would be a hit, but Tennant has also revealed that the series had direct guidance from Gaiman in the creation of this series:

“He was very much involved, which I think is one of the great advantages to that show. It’s so beloved, that novel, that you do feel like you’re taking your life in your hands trying to reinterpret it for another medium. But I think because Neil was involved and wrote the script, I feel like we’ve got the angels on our side, so to speak.”

That sly devil couldn’t help but make a pun, and it absurdly fits for such a classic. I’m eager to see how they pull this off when it hits the small screen.
