‘Haven’ fans need not worry about their show as Syfy has announced that they have renewed the supernatural series for another season.

Loosely based on the Stephen King novel, ‘The Colorado Kid,’ ‘Haven’ stars Emily Rose as ex-FBI Special Agent  Audrey Parker who is now a cop in the small town of Haven, Maine which is inhabited by people with supernatural abilities. Not only does she try to keep the paranormal activities in check, she finds out that the town holds a key to her past.

The series is currently in its third season and averages 2.4 million viewers per episode and ranks as the number one cable program among adults 18-49 in its time slot. The Season 3 premiere drew 2.8 million viewers which was up 10% from the Season 2 premiere.

In the press release announcing the renewal, Mark Stern, Syfy’s president of original content, has said:

“We couldn’t be happier to see the story of Audrey Parker and the creepy, quirky town of Haven continue next year. Season three has hit a creative and critical high and we’re very excited to see where the talented production team takes our colorful cast of characters led by the perfect trifecta of Emily Rose, Eric Balfour and Lucas Bryant in season four.”

The series will return sometime in 2013 with a 13 episode run.

‘Haven’ airs on Fridays at 10pm on the Syfy channel.
